Gex founded CancerCareNetwork.com and has provided a special place for people to call a "home away from home" all over the world.  Gex began simply enough with an MSN Chat Room called Cancer Care, it grew from one member to over 400 in less than a year.  Many times Gex was available 24/7 to chat with members who wandered in looking for support.  Having been touched by cancer, Gex related to their fears and concerns.  His style and mannerisms were fondly embraced.  He devoted large amounts of time assisting others seeking information for the different types of cancer they or a loved one were diagnosed with.  Often, people entered with fear and anxiety and left with a smile, knowing they could return and find Gex and other members to listen to them.  In addition to support and information, Gex provided much humor and laughter.  His presence is always a comfort.  Gex is not as active with CCN as he once was, fortunately they are good reasons and he is doing well.  He visits when he can and if you ever see Gex, know that you are sharing time with a special man who touched the hearts and lives of many people all over the world.  And because of his efforts and visions....we carry on the work that he began.

  If it wasn't for your generous heart and kind soul we would not have a safe haven to come to. With all that's going on in your life and I know how busy you are. But with you loving heart and soul for your relative you have created this wonderful room for all of us around the world who have been touched with this dreaded disease cancer. With your laughter warm heart and huge shoulders you have shown us a world where we can come for answers hopes and dreams. A place where we have became a large family. Because of your dedication to find us this place our family has grown larger then expected. I truly do miss you but I know that life goes on and other things have to be let go. You will always be in my heart and the head of this family. I'm truly happy all is well with your relative and that you have a wonderful life. But remember this you are a part of our family and always will be. And will always hold a special place in all of our hearts. And the new members will have not gotten to know you but will thrive because you left us this great legacy. Thank You Gex for just being YOU.

Dear Gex,

We only met in the chat room once but you should know the impact you have had on my life. I survived prostate cancer with the help of a great medical team and lots of support from my family. Now, 16 months post surgery, I spend many hrs talking with survivors, people in crisis, and everyone in between. I've finally found a way to give something back that wouldn't be available without your hard work. Thanks Gex, I've made many good friends because of you.

I am so grateful to Gex for helping me to tell my family I had cancer. He was the most patient understanding man I had ever met. More understanding than any man in my family. He took time to listen to me, and not turn his back on what I had to say. He took time out of his busy life just for me. And I am so happy to have found this chat room. You can say it this way he was my guardian angel, he helped carry my burdens for me. Gex, you are awesome. And I know you will be rewarded in heaven for all the things you have done for other people, but especially your daughter. My heart and prayers will be with you forever.

I just want to say thanks... you were one of the first ppl I ever talked with online. and you made me feel welcome in the old chat room and for that I am grateful. There are so many reasons to say thank you........the obvious ones are for the terrific support room in MSN that you created with your relative, and then the website that you put together so that we would not lose the friendships we had found!  But Gexie, it goes so far beyond all of that....there were many times that I felt so lost and alone, and you made me feel like I was a special person, and gave me the strength to keep going.  You are truly a blessed man, for you have touched so many lives...and I am so grateful that I am one of the lucky ones whose life you touched!  I will keep you and your family in my prayers always!

Where do I begin. I actually met Gex before he created what I like to call my heart of support. I met him in a different chat room. We had a common ground like all in here.  He was the first parent I had met outside of the hospital and clinics that I really knew.

  Many nights when I was feeling very sad, angry or lost I would come in  & find him. He gave me the 1 thing no one else not even my husband could give to me @ that time. It was understanding. He  helped me realize that I have the right to be angry, scared and human. I felt that in order to be strong for my little girl I had to somehow block out my fears, anger and sadness. He shared with me how he handled his family member's illness and in so many ways I felt like for the first time I was not to blame.

  I use to talk so much about him to my husband that he actually became a bit envious. Gex found this very funny. I think he was a bit confused as to why anyone would be envious of him. Gex is Gex because in his eyes he is average Joe who has a sick relative. I think Gex is Gex because he has a sick relative and has educated himself. As he educated himself on cancer he also educated everyone in the room.

   All my life I have always heard God has a reason for everything. This is something I have heard so many times from strangers when they ask about my little girl. For the life of me I never could understand what reason the lord could have to curse my 2 year old daughter with brain cancer. I do believe that the lord works in mysterious ways. I do not know but my guess is that the lord needed Gex to do his work for him and this is how he got his work started thru him
  Gex is sent to us from something greater than we will ever understand. He is a gift of love to us all. I feel very sad the new members of the room have not had the same privelidge as many of us oldies. Gex was my best friend in here for longest time. I now have many best friends in here that I love from the bottom of my heart but Gex my friend you will ALWAYS hold a very dear and special spot in my heart. I love you my  friend and miss you a great deal.   You and your beautiful family are right in with me.

Hi Gexxy....I just want u to know how much i appreciate your kindness & help and welcoming me when I first came to CCN chat room....I was really scared and down and didn't know what to do or where to turn when I found out I had Cancer....I came across CCN Chat by accident when i was looking up things on Cancer....I came in room and you welcomed me and made me feel part of the group....You even got me to laugh and smile :) when I was so down....Especially with all the nicknames u called me  such as Tifferoni,  Tiffy  etc.....I didn't know u that long to really get to know u, but in the short time I did know u I found u to be a very csring and loving person, who cared about everyone who came into CCN Chat room....You made me feel really welcomed and helped each and everyone of us alot....I was sad to hear u were moving on but I'm glad I got the chance to talk with u....Again Gexxy I thank  for being who u r....Never change the way u r....

Gex, where do i even start? From the moment i set foot in the original
Cancer Care room, you were there to make me feel right at home. I was afraid
to speak out at first, talking to complete strangers about my fight with
breast cancer, but you were there, to assist me with the warmth of your
heart, like you did for each and every one of us. Of course, there was
always humour, with you and i, picking on each other back and forth, but it
was all out of love and respect. You are one of the most caring, honest, and
respected men i have never met, but i sure hope to someday. You have made a
huge impact on me, and so many others, you may never really know how much
you mean to me. Words can't describe it. You are truly an amazing person,
you have a gift to touch people, and make them feel cared about and loved.
Thank you for everything that you have done. You have given hope and feeling
back to so many, including me. God bless you, Gex.

My Dear Friend Gex!

My words and actions fail to convey the appreciation I wish to express.  I  personally have been helped by you and your endeavors in more ways than you know.  What you have accomplished is far beyond our expectations!  I miss our late night chats often staying up to welcome the sun, but you are older and you do need your rest....lol!  We discovered many things about each other and discussed everything under the moon!  Gex, I am honored to be a part of this community that you so lovingly created.  You have served us all well and with much love!   I have learned much from you and alongside the other members will continue in your footprints.  I am so happy for you Gex that things are going well for you and your family!  You deserve the best there is!  Many good things are in store for you!  Gex, you have thanked me before for different things, but know that whatever I have done.....it hasn't been enough!  I will always treasure our friendship and I am here for you.  You know how to reach me....I am only a thought away!

So hard to know what to say about GEX or Snow really as he is just awesome to have

started this site, and words alone could never express the gratitude I have in my heart, I even
believe God will give you a special gift in heaven for all that you have
done as you have helped ppl in their most difficult struggles of life and wow
even ppl close to their last days here on earth who were needing encouragement.   I met Gex
in the real  cancer support and alot of evenings him and I would be left
there chatting with ppl who would come in looking for support and encouragement
and information well he would go and bring up alot of info for them.  We had alot of ppl who would come in at that hour.   Those were some pretty special times we had then.
   And of course the starting
of this room and the move to this spot we now have.   It would not have been
possible with out his foresight in doing so.

How does one thank someone for bringing so many ppl together in such a short time.  In doing so Gex has helped us form friendships we would never have formed, meet ppl we would never have met and laughed and joked with ppl in a fun happy environment.  There are no words to thank Gex completely.   He is one whom without, we all would never have met.  His dedication to setting up the website and keeping us all together when the public chats were closed was fantastic.  His patience throughout this process was unrelenting.  His ability to mix with many different ppl and give of his time cannot be questioned.  So Gex, here's to you mate  and THANK YOU, you are one hell of a guy.  Much Love Lob & Macca

This is a tribute to Gex a very special loving man. I met Gex my first day I come to CCN he is funny and very nice, he made everyone feel comfortable in a time of shock and overwhelming odds. Gex is actually cool to have around. He seems to have a nack of making people at ease with the pain and the out come of their own cancer, he doesn’t turn anyone away that needs help and support, he has done a wonderful job for the site and it is helpful with every bit of information. We miss him a lot and can't wait to chat again with him.

– that I really appreciate your founding the room.  I was– lost –after becoming disillusioned in another room…….and if it wasn’t for you opening an alternative room – then I would have been offline – and without company……..a long time ago.

It didn’t seem like we were great distances apart – but a regular contact near-by – on the computer.

Even though I am unjoined from CCN at the present time  - I thank you for the effort you put in to get this room – off the ground because it's  being found - and needed -  for a lot of other people who are being touched by cancer - daily. It has on-going - need.
